I am originally from New Orleans, where I lived for the first 10 years of my life. Because of hurricane Katrina, my family and I were forced to relocate to Texas. From there we moved up and down the east coast before finally settling in Northern Virginia, where I first found my knack for fitness.
My journey started the summer before 9th grade. I wanted to be stronger than my friend who could already bench 200 pounds. That whole summer I was determined. I started getting up at 8:00 am Monday-Thursday. I grew so much that summer, that I began to grow stretch marks on my legs and chest. Fast-forward to my senior year: not only was I much stronger than my friend, I was the strongest in my school, holding the bench record at 350.
After high school, my love for fitness was at an all- time high. I started training my friends and offering fitness advice. I started to think that I may want to become a personal trainer until I realized that the likelihood of me making a lot of money field very was slim. Everyone seemed to want to be a trainer, and really, they were only a certification away. Although, I loved training people for free, “free” did not pay the rent and buy food.
About two years after high school and community college, I began doing a lot of research. I discovered a love for nutrition. Educating people about proper nutrition is very important to me. I love to blow other people’s minds with the knowledge that I can share with them.
Currently, I am in my junior year at Louisiana Tech University, working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. I have received a nutrition certification with Nutrition Cube. I also recently got engaged to my high school sweetheart.
I am highly motivated to make a difference in this world. I am confident that I can change the world for the better.
