No one enjoys change.
That’s the toughest part of my job with strongfigure. Me, standing here on this little platform yelling out to the world, “If I can do it, you can too!” And trying to convince a world full of people that “change” really isn’t that bad. That change can be good. That change can make you feel incredible. Change can save your life, give you freedoms you never thought you could have before, and will turn you into the person you never thought you could be.
But it’s also tough work. And I never know who will accept my challenge. Can I even guarantee that my strategies and what worked for me will always work for you? No. There’s no holy gospel here. Just me, and the proof that I changed.
Are you intrigued because you’re hopeful that one day, you can change your life too? Could it be that you are one of the ones willing to change a lot of small things in your life to ensure a great big change in your outcome?
Erik and I have spent years reviewing the research and experimenting with what really works. We’ve consulted the experts who are really getting results. We’ve tried this stuff on ourselves. Most importantly, we’ve helped countless men and women make real, measurable, and lasting change.
All because we accepted change.
And in our Total Health and Fitness Makeover book, we compiled all our evidence, stories, and must-know advice to share what we learned about health and how you can benefit.
We cover:
- All you need to know on nutrition, food selection, macro and micronutrients, and hydration
- Exercise for beginners and intermediates
- How nutrition timing and food prep can change your life
- The importance of sleep, stress relief, meditation and personal growth
- How to stretch, mobilize, and work on both flexibility and balance
We also created a special group that we want to invite you to join once you have our book: the Insider’s Facebook Group full of people JUST like you plus several fitness professionals ready to answer your questions and give you one-on-one coaching advice that you’ve been searching for.
Your payoff: Total body wellness: a healthier, more adventurous lifestyle; and physical, emotional, and mental strength and happiness.
You’ll probably look awesome, feel awesome, and just BE awesome; but hey, results do vary.
This probably sounds awesome to you doesn’t it? You may be thinking, “I’ve always wanted to be confident. Feel sexy. Know what to eat. But that can’t be me. I’ve tried this before. Nothing works. Why this? Why now?”
I get that you’re hesitant. I did everything wrong first–maybe just like you. I failed a lot before I figured out that being healthy didn’t mean constantly dieting or having to spend 10 hours a week exercising. I don’t lose weight easy. I’m a gainer. I am fighter for my health. I’m not like the typical “fitness coach.” Me? I was YOU.
“Dieting and Exercise” vs. “An Active Lifestyle & Better Nutritional Choices”
Diet and Exercise
It’s really easy to eat too much. And just as easy as it is to do that, it’s also sometimes easier to eat too little. In fact, most typical “diet programs” have the average dieter eating far too little calories which sets the dieter up for extreme distress. You drop weight quickly. You get excited, but then plateau. You either give up or work harder. You’re stuck. Depressed. You gain weight. You’re not meant to be smaller. You’re not meant to feel good. You’re not one of the lucky ones. You’ll never be happy.
You exercise hard. Harder. You get tired. Hungrier. You binge on cookie dough. Life becomes a series of choices between grilled chicken breasts with no sauces and a side of steamed broccoli–no butter! Or the baked potato and an extra gym session.
You do what every magazine says to do. Eat the way every fitness model eats. Why doesn’t it work for you? Why can’t you be one of the “lucky ones”?
The nutrition and exercise field is full of scary information. How do you know what’s right? How do you know when too much is too much and too little is too little?
You trust us.
Because we’ve been there. We tested it, tried it, failed it, and found success. But really, it’s because you’re tired of losing and you’re ready to get things right. You want to feel good. You want to feel positive. You want to be lead by people who know what it’s like to fight your fight, who understand how change is designed to work, and who have won the fight against failed attempts. You’re tired of feeling bad. And no evidence shows that feeling bad creates lasting behavior changes.
You’re ready for change.
An Active Life Accompanied by Great Choices
A few simple choices right now can spark a big change in your lifestyle and that’s what you learn about in The Total Health and Fitness Makeover. You don’t have to wish for awesomeness. You just have to learn that a little motivation can take you extrememly far when it comes to your overall health and wellness.
We help you find what’s fun and joyful in your life, and teach you to chase it. We teach you that nutritious eating, movement, and personal growth is a path to living life with purpose. We encourage you to go outside. To live actively. To eat nutritiously. And to feel good in your body, not ashamed or exhausted.
An awesomeness-based lifestle is a guide to total wellness. Are you ready to celebrate your health and fitness while loving every minute of it?
Let Us Coach You.
There’s only one expert when it comes to knowing your body and your life, and that’s YOU. As coaches, we have pretty considerable expertise. But you live in your body with your experiences 24-7. We don’t.
You have your own reasons for wanting change. Our job is to help you find your methods that work best for YOU. And through our guidance, once you are able to identify your own limiting factors and — more excitingly — propose your own solutions, we have a recipe for sustainable, long-term behavior change.
Another bonus: we tend to believe what we hear ourselves say. If you generate a solution, you’ll likely embrace it.
Why?
Language is powerful.
Let’s start right now by examining your behaviors and working towards your goals with the following questions.
Explore
Answer the following questions openly and honest with yourself. Remember–no one’s judging you here, and that includes yourself.
- “What things are most important to you? How does your exercise and eating fit into this?”
- “What sorts of things would you like to accomplish in your life?”
- “What would you like to see change?”
- “If things were better with your eating/exercise, what would be different?”
- “What have you already tried? What worked/didn’t work?”
Now Imagine
- “Imagine you can … (your answer to number 2).”
- “Imagine you are already… (your answer to numbers 3 and 4).”
- “Imagine that you have the body and health you desire. What did it take for you to achieve it?”
Become Successful
Our readers have already succeeded. All of you can help us expand the awesomeness.

Let Me Be Honest Here
You have to do the work. We’re a guide. A resource. We show by example, give advice for what we found to be some of the best methods in our persuits for total body wellness, and we aim to motivate and inspire daily.
But you have to want to be motivated. You have to want to be inspired. You have to want to work hard for change.
Change is never easy. But with persistence, patience, and dedication, change can become easier.
Some of you will get frustrated and give up. Some won’t believe us. Some will come back to us later. But some of you ARE ready and some of you WILL change. Are you one who will become easily frustrated? Looking for a quick fix? Or are you ready to work, try, encounter set-backs, perservere, and rise? Are you ready to change, once and for all?
What would your life be like right now, if you changed it?
Let’s find out if you’re really ready.
On a scale of 1-10: If you decided to change, how confident are you that you could really change?
1 = not at all confident and 10 = extremely confident.
If you respond with an 8-10, you are ready. You can do this. Under 8? What smaller steps can you take in the meantime to get yourself ready for change? Even if you’re unsure of your answer, what things can you begin to do right now to make the thought of changing less overwhelming?
There’s no sugar coating here. If you’re not ready to change, there will be no change — no matter how awesome we are or how great our book might be.
Your Next Steps
Given all of this, what are you going to next? In fact, if you do nothing, where do you see yourself in five years? How will you feel and what will you look like?
If you do decide to change, what do you see in five years? What do you feel? How is your life different?
You’re Caught in the Middle, Aren’t You?
Look, I know you’ve got a lot on your plate. It’s tough to schedule gym time. And it’s hard to resist those home-made brownies. Your kids want peppermint everything. And you want the eggnog. The season is cold and you’re excited for turkey leftovers piled on top of fresh-baked bread and smothered in gravy and cranberries. It’s rough waking up 5:30am when it’s 28 degrees out and you can’t see your hand in front of your face and the only thing waiting for you is a boring stair climber. Hitting the gym after work when your day starts in the dark and finishes in the dark, or when you’re exhausted because the boss needed you too much, or you’re rushing home because the kids are waiting for a home-cooked (or picked up) meal–just flat out sucks. I believe you when you say, “it’s too hard.”
There’s no rush. We’re patient.
I’ll say it again: change never comes easy. And for some, it won’t come at all. But the rest of you? You are ready to argue for change. Some of you know that yeah, you do have a lot going on. But you value the importance of living a healthier life for both you and your family. You know you should make better decisions. You know you will feel better if you get to the gym a few times each week. You know you don’t need three brownies. You know you could be happy with just one.
If that’s you, then it sounds like you’re ready.
Still Not Sure? Let’s Play Crazy Questions
Answer these for me:
- What is GOOD about “X” behavior [where X behavior is the problem behavior you want to change]?
- What is BAD about changing? What would you lose or give up if you got rid of “X”?
I understand what you’re thinking, what you’re feeling, and what you’re experiencing because I’ve been there. It’s normal to feel the way you feel right now. You’re used to being let down. Whether that let down comes from people like me, or from yourself, or maybe even a combination of both, I don’t know. But I know it’s ok to feel the way you feel right now. The one thing I’ve learned throughout my own journey is that no one, and I mean NO ONE, could make me ready for change.
I had to choose my own adventure.
