Catch Some Air in Your Weekend SFCW!

November 7, 2014 By Stephanie Walker

Sandra in full beast mode early this morning.

I’m so excited for this weekend. Reebok (Reebok Women) sent me a pair of their Cardio Ultra shoes (#cardioultra) that have not even been released to the public yet. Tomorrow I am going to start testing out these bad boys…or bad girls I should probably say…along with some clothes that they sent too! These shoes are in for a tough week. I hope my bursitis-defective heels can handle everything. Stay tuned for my review…it will publish by Monday, November 17th.

Matthew, with probably the highest jumping weighted burpee that I've seen. 6am bootcamp...boy do they know what they're doing!

Speaking if my bursitis (#heelproblems), it really sucks trying to “take it easy” and not put a lot of pressure on your feet. I was telling Erik last night that it’s kind of great being able to accomplish other neglected tasks around the house because I have a little bit more time, but it’s weird not picking up something super heavy every day. I’m eating very clean — I’m eager to see how my body changes/responds to such a break. I’m thinking about “resting” until the new year…there’s so much to be done now that the holidays are here!

So this morning, after I taught my bootcamp class, I did the following workout with a couple friends–TRY IT OUT!

Jennifer, tackling weighted burpees with 25 lb dumbbells.

Saturday’s Strong Figure Conditioning Workout:

3 Rounds for Time:

  • 30 KB Swings
  • 20 Lunges
  • 10 Push-ups
  • 1 minute plank

I used a 45# bell for the swings (American swings/overhead), and held the bell in rack position for the lunges. You can modify this any way you need. And if you don’t have a KB, sub squats, sit-ups, anything you need for the swings.

Another option…

is what my bootcampers did this morning.

For time:

  • 400 meter run
  • 50 squats
  • 400 meter run
  • 40 wall balls
  • 400 meter run
  • 30 kb swings
  • 400 meter run
  • 20 weighted burpees (As seen in the pics! My bootcampers are awesome!)

So, which workout will you choose? Let us know in the comments!

OR–how long of a rest break have you had to take from your sport due to injuries and what did you do in the  meantime? I want to hear your thoughts in the comments section!
