My name is Andrea Rodgers and I am thrilled to be contributing to the Strong Figure revolution! I am a personal trainer, CSCS, Crossfit coach and health coach in the Boston area. My life revolves around making myself and my clients the healthiest beings possible. This includes training optimally, eating nutrient dense foods and finding a healthy balance in all areas in life. After receiving my BS in Exercise Science, I began to research nutrition and fitness on my own and was introduced to the world of information outside of the textbooks from school.
The more I researched, the more training programs and diets I tried in order to “biohack” my health. My fitness journey eventually led me to a Crossfit class and after having my ass handed to me, I fell in love with strength and conditioning. I became certified as a Crossfit coach and currently coach at a box outside of Boston.
My nutrition journey led me to many places as well. Vegan, vegetarian, intermittent fasting, I tried it all. To further my knowledge I studied at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and received my certification as a Health Coach. This empowered me to start my own company called Pura Vida Wellness to help people find a healthy relationship with food, fitness and themselves. My most recent accomplishment is receiving my CSCS as a certified strength and Conditioning specialist through the NSCA.
As I read, grow and experience life, I am understanding that there are no absolutes. Just when I think I have found the key or the end all exercise program, I learn something new. One other thing I discovered is that your mind can determine what you will accomplish. Don’t let fear or doubt stop you from following your dreams and living the life you envision. Oh, and follow your gut. It’s always right.
