Fresh, Natural, and Real Foods: I need a little paleo to get me through my WODs.
A few weeks ago, you might have read already, I got to compete in DC’s SuperFit Trident CrossFit competition. And if you know me at all, you know that competition for me isn’t necessarily about winning, but more along the lines of “eating.” Ha–I know–winning is awesome and if I ever see a podium one day, I might cry tears of joy. But I bust my ass for two reasons: to prove what I’m capable of, and to flippin’ EAT.
I. LOVE. FOOD.
The way my body holds on to glycogen is unreal. So I usually plan all my fun food splurges and cheats. And post competition days are GREAT for that! Just ask anyone around me this past weekend after competing at the Civilian Miltary Combine: I ate pizza, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, wine, beer, you name it.
But is splurging on food that’s packed full of high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils such a good idea? I mean, sure, it’s only every now and then, but isn’t there a better way to enjoy good, delicious, decadent treats? Oh, and NOT damage my insides?

That’s when I met Anita, of Anita Little Paleo. Anita reminds me a lot of myself. She quit teaching this past June to pursue Anita Little Paleo full time. She said that this was a huge jump for her and thankfully her husband supports her new venture 100%.
I have a 3 year old and a 5 year old and since I travel almost every weekend that means he has to take care of the kiddos independently those days and he never complains. We are at home garage box crossfitters. We love going to competitions to watch, compete, and to sell ALP. He is an Rx athlete whereas I’m a scaled athlete. The heavy weights are where I run into a problem. We love to eat clean, train mean, and set a good example for our kiddos with fitness, health, good eating habits, and working hard.
When I was at Trident, I walked by Anita’s table and thought, OHMYGOD look at those muffins! Those cookies! Those brownies! (You can see where I’m going.) And then I asked Erik if he had his wallet so that he could buy me some. I got pumpkin muffins that were to freaking die for, and a blondie that just melted in my mouth. I could not believe that these treats were paleo! And the ingredients are so simple, so natural, and so NOT processed.

If you want a fabulous dessert and you don’t want to spend all the unnecessary time and energy going to the store, finding the ingredients, paying a bundle for an entire bag of coconut flour, making a mess, and having no time left over to enjoy your treat–just go to Anita’s site and place an order. It’s fresh, it’s fabulous, and you will LOVE it.
I searched high and low for a delicious treat that not only tasted good but wasn’t full of ingredients that I can’t pronounce. All of our products are prepared with all natural ingredients and are sure to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. My little guys love Anita Little Paleo treats and I know you will too. XOXO- Anita Ridge
