While browsing the internet this morning, an Under Armour video captured my attention. Recently, supermodel Gisele Bundchen has been taking a twitter beat down over taking part in the famous “I Will” Under Armour Campaign. Apparently, people have been tweeting hateful and rude comments about Gisele and about UA trying to be a “modeling” company now. (BTW, don’t most clothing companies hire models to promote their gear? Just sayin’…) So long story short, Gisele got together with UA and they put together this video. I, personally, am so inspired by it.
Gisele Bündchen – I WILL WHAT I WANT
I wish I had thick skin like Gisele. I hate making people angry and if I had an incoming twitter feed this nasty and aggressive, I can’t help but think I’d hide in a hole somewhere until people forgot all about me. I’ve always been too emotional about everything and I let my feelings get the best of me. Honestly, I’m horrible at business because of it. (That’s why Erik is the co-owner of this blog!) But another long story short, this is really motivational for me. It reminds me,
- Who cares what other people think of us?
- If we’re doing our best, isn’t that all that matters?
- Why do we need to live up to others’ expectations?
- Why can’t I or you just be the best “me” or “you” that we can be?
I know that I need to be a little more thick-skinned, stand up for myself in a fight, and always be true to myself. I should never try to be someone I’m not; I should always make the most of myself and my abilities, and I definitely should stop comparing myself to others. That’s a really hard thing for me to do!
So now, your Strong Figure Conditioning Workout: inspired by Gisele’s video, I’m bringing you a fighter’s workout.
3 Rounds for time:
- 1 minute max effort double unders (or singles)
- 1 minute max effort burpees
- 1 minute max effort push kicks (alternating legs each time)
- 1 minute max effort jabs
- 1 minute break
And if you really want a tough one, throw in a round of max effort kettlebell swings.
For the push kicks, you don’t need a bag or a target, just brace your abs, lean back and pretend you’re pushing someone away from you with your foot. You want to think that you’re striking with the ball of your foot. Switch legs with each kick and make SURE you keep your abs braced!
For jabs, stand with your feet shoulder width apart, relax your shoulders, tighten your belly, and throw fast punches to an invisible face. Aim for the nose or the chin. Think about rotating your hips with each punch and keeping the abs TIGHT!
What do you think of Gisele’s video? Are you thick-skinned or succumb to the pressure of others? What’s your character flaw? Anything holding the “true you” back? Comment below–I want to know!
I’m hoping this video can inspire you the way it did me. Or maybe you can forward it to someone who needs reminding they he/she is AWESOME and doesn’t need to change for any person. I’m thankful Gisele did what she did and dished it right back out to her haters.

LOVE this post. Why do we compare ourselves to others when we are All SO different! Seriously it doesn’t make sense. We can all take the same medications, due to our body compilations so fitness is the same! We need to work on being the best version of OURSELVES not comparing to someone else <3
