I cannot believe it’s the end of July already. I feel so bad for Erik–he’s got to go back to school in a week! But I know that Erik and I are both SUPER excited for August for one BIG reason:
The National Pro-Grid League kicks off its very FIRST competition season EVER!
And we at Strong Figure are proud to help our home team, the DC Brawlers, realize their dream of becoming professionals and take home the championship. #BRAWLOUT
This is GRID:
And the Brawlers need your support! If you’re reading this, chances are you’ve dreamed of being a professional athlete. Here are a team of athletes who have been given that chance! But the sport is small and new…and the team wants you to be a part of greatness in the making.
And this is the DCB.
This team is trying to raise $15,000. All funds will go to supporting ways that help the DC Brawlers athletes be more competitive on the grid – especially training necessities at their facility (rig, bars, plates, etc.), athletic supplies like tapes and wraps and nutritional needs during training.
What’s in it for you?
- In return for your support, the Brawlers are offering unique experiences and interactions with the athletes themselves, as well as limited-edition gear, chances to make your mark on the training facility and so much more.
- Any contribution of $25 or more will give you access to The DCB, the official supporters club of the DC Brawlers.

Strong Figure is contributing and we hope you do too!
While you are thinking over your possible contribution, I’ve got your Thursday Strong Figure Conditioning Workout and it’s a GREAT ONE! 😉 (Seriously, aren’t they all?)
Here’s what you’re going to do:
- Set a timer for 20 minutes.
- Run 200 meters
- Complete 10 kettlebell swings
- Run 200 meters
- Complete 15 kettlebell swings
- Run 200 meters
- Complete 20 kettlebell swings….
Do you see where I’m going with this? The object is to get THE MOST SWINGS possible in 20 minutes! Here’s your special challenge. Whether you choose to perform Russian swings (swinging to eye level) or American (overhead), STICK with how you begin. The workout is obviously going to get tougher as you’re swinging more, so if you start with American swings, don’t break! Stay with American swings throughout. Want a bigger challenge? Try not to break up your swings–try to complete every round unbroken!
Report back in the comments below…I want to know how you performed in this workout!
Need substitutions? If you don’t have access to a track or good running spot, sub 50 double unders for the 200 meter run, 150 singles if you don’t have your double unders down, or 20 dynamic lunges (jumping lunges) each leg! If you don’t have a kettlebell…sub burpees. (Insert evil grin.)
HAVE FUN and #InspireTheFightWithin !!
