Kettlebell training is one of the most efficient and simple training methods for developing strength, improving cardio, and accelerating fat loss: it’s efficient because it works, and it’s simple because it usually only requires just one piece of equipment. When people come to me who need to work out on a budget, I tell them to buy a kettlebell. When people come to me and say that they need to workout but they don’t have a lot a time, I say “Buy a kettlebell.”
Kettlebell exercises train every muscle of the body—including smaller stabilizing muscles that typically get ignored. The reason a kettlebell works so well is because of it’s shape. The fact that it’s round means that more muscle is required to keep the weight steady. Shoulder pressing a dumbbell usually requires just the muscles in the, well, shoulder. But shoulder pressing a kettlebell requires forearm strength, grip stability, and sometimes even extra core/balance work. (Not to mention the actual shoulder.) If the kettlebell works this well for just one exercise, imagine what your body can do with a hundred different exercises.
