At a mere 22 years old, Irene has already experienced a whirlwind within the fitness industry. Irene has experienced the sports, health and fitness industry in full force as she has stood ahead of many same-aged peers. From competing in badminton to earning a degree in exercise science, Irene is passionate about all things health and fitness. She believes that attitude is gratitude. Success will only be possible with the given guidance and opportunities through this humble journey of hers.
You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you. — Sarah Ban Breathnach
Since young, Irene’s parents always supported her and never interfered with any activities she was interested in. Being active since her primary school days, training competitively in badminton and hockey, and clinching number of medals; Irene grew a passion for sports of all kinds early in her life. Irene continued to play badminton through secondary school and was even given the opportunity to train with top players on the Singapore National Team. She began coaching Badminton at the age of 17–coaching both children and adults from three to forty. She has never stopped playing since, even while pursuing her diploma in Sports and Exercise Science in the Republic Polytechnic.
When she was only 20, Irene started creating bootcamp classes using the concept of fitness and nutrition–making her participants’ wellness goals achievable through effective workouts at a very affordable price. Hitting the heartlands with more than 16 locations in Singapore and several instructors, Irene gained more than 1000 participants working out in a single night!
Planning and leading workouts for 20-80 people every three times a week for these warriors sure wasn’t easy–ages ranging from kids to elderly, with all fitness levels completing workouts together. But seeing the smiles after each workout and the determination put forth towards meeting goals, Irene and her trainers couldn’t help but want to go the extra mile for participants. This is what drives Irene to do the best she can just to help anyone who is wants that help.
Moving forward in her career, Irene joined theBodyTec Team as a Personal Trainer for Electro-muscular Stimulation Training in her final year of sports science. From there, she gained knowledge on muscular stimulation and found a passion in the science. After graduating with her diploma in Sports and Exercise Science early this year, Irene has decided to join a commercial gym and at the same time is going for more personal development certifications of various areas in order to expand her knowledge and apply to her clients on a holistic approach. She strongly believes that “Success is only limited by your own imagination and hard work.” Her biggest mission is changing lives through fitness and lifestyle. Nothing else beats having a healthier and happier you for your loved ones. 🙂
